We are in receipt of your favour of yesterday's date and note your remarks in connection with the balanced valves forming part of the above-mentioned apparatus. According to our records, it is now some years since we had the pleasure of supplying Disc Valve Units to your goodselves and we accordingly think you will find our latest booklet - copy herewith - of considerable interest on account of the latest modifications and developments described therein. The various types of Disc Valve Unit are referred to on page 5 and it will be noted that the latest - Type A - is fitted with a water-cooled cock. Apart from this, however, in order to further increase the life of the disc and to meet conditions such as you describe, it has been modified in shape to increase its strength without appreciably adding to its weight and further, in order to ensure good electrical contact, an improvement has been effected by placing a small coil of fine wire inside the electrode spindle behind the stem of the disc.
