X.2656. RE CARBON BRUSHES. X 3945

Mr. Bently of Royce Limited informed me that he gets better results from a certain class of LeCarbone brushes than from Morganite brushes. They are also more exactly to dimensions and much better finished.

I do not think this is very important to the starter motor, but you may find on the dynamos, should we construct them ourselves, it would be highly desirable to get a brush which not only fits the brush holder accurately, but will run for hundreds of hours with only imperceptible wear.

The quality that Mr. Bently prefers of LeCarbone is, I think the single nought type, not the most expensive, and perhaps not the elctrical graphite which I believe is their most expensive.
