John Summers & Sons Ltd., Hawarden Bridge Steel Works, Shotton, Chester. Dear Dick, Many thanks for your letter of March 9th. I am sorry I have delayed replying but I have been in communication with London. You will have had their reply to your letter from which you will see that things are moving, and I will write you again when things are settled rather more definitely. With regard to the piston failures, these are having my concentrated attention, but there must be something extraordinary in the Cheshire air because 40% of the known cases seem to have come from Shotton way. I am wondering whether you perhaps brake harder than most people and throw the oil to the forward end of the sump. We have dealt with this problem by improving the sump baffling and this is now fitted to all cars. I am glad the Squash Court is progressing and shall be happy to give an exhibition match at the opening thereof. Yours ever, | ||
