Smith} } c. RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} ROY.{Sir Henry Royce} E.7/HP.15.8.32. Specification for six Peregrine chassis. A meeting held attended by Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} By, Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}, BY/SS.{S. Smith} and E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} to decide what specification should be put up for the six Peregrine chassis, and the following was arranged. It was also agreed that sufficient material should be instructed to include a chassis for bumping test:- Engine Suspension. It is proposed to make the first six cars to the present design in respect to the engine suspension. In the meantime we are producing a modified design based on the recommendation of the Experimental Department following the system used on the present 25 HP. Slipper Wheel. The first six cars will be produced to design LeC.3149 for the slipper wheel, and fan pulley. Carburetter and Induction Pipe. We are expecting to issue the design for the above tomorrow. Cylinder Head. This should be instructed for the 14 m/m ignition plug to drawing LeC.3152, also the inlet and exhaust valves should be the same diameter, i.e. 1.125, and compression ratio 6.1 to 1 with the standard copper asbestos gasket. Valve Rocker and Fittings. These are to be mounted on a single rocker shaft carried on brackets so arranged as to eliminate overhung rockers, as shown on LeC.3159. The brackets should be in steel instead of Duralumin, and the dimensions should be correspondingly modified. Camshaft. These should be instructed to the temporary form arranged to reduce the toe of the cam, as instructed by By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} | ||
