1620 To Bentley Motors Ltd. Derby................Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Levallois Sr/VAI5/GM.14.12.36 re: CHASSIS B.6.BN{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} - Mr. E.E. BLANC --------------------------------- With reference to your Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swd14/AP.8.12.36 We have had the main journals of the crankshaft re-ground, they were ground to .010" undersize, it was found that it was not necessary to re-grind them to .015" u/s. As explained in our Sr/VAI9/GM.10.12.36 we drilled an extra and opposite hole in each of the seven main bearing journals, we did this before we received your memo referred to above.
