Derby ...............Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Levallois Sr/VAI4/GM.14.12.36 re: CHASSIS B.8.GA - Paris Trials Car CHASSIS B.60.GA - Paris Trials Car ------------------------------------- We acknowledge receipt of your telegramm of the 11th. instant reading: PLEASE URGE TESTS ON RR 56 BIG ENDS AND REAR MAIN BEARING WHICH YOU HAVE RECEIVED FOR YOUR TRIALS CAR STOP ALSO SHOULD LIKE REPORT ON WHITE METAL MAINS. With reference to Sr's conversation with you on the phone this morning concerning the above, and the tests we are carrying on B.60.GA (Whitemetal bearings) We, as agreed to by you in the phone, are only at present going to fit the connecting rods which have the RR.56 bearings and shims to B.8.GA. We shall start on this work tomorrow. When we, at a later date, fit the RR.56 rear main bearing, we will drill an extra and opposite hole in each of the main journals of the crankshaft, as requested by you in your Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell}4/AP.8.12.36, paragraph 4. As Sr. explained to you, we are extremely busy at present and have been for some time and the 40 hour week is not helping matters in this respect. Sr/VA. | ||
