Bailey - Chief Engineer} R9/G4.2.20. X.3431. X.3763. X.3565. X.3563. RE PRESENT 40/50 H.P. CHASSIS. With reference to the present 40/50 H.P.? if we use the thermostat as arranged, we do not need thermometers, which appear to be rather unsatisfactory, both as regards fitting and remaining permanently in good order, the one on 1.EX has stopped. X.3908. As regards smoke in the body, I notice that it is highly desirable that the breather should be capable of blowing the fumes from the crankchamber outside the undershield or behind the holes for the pedals.
