-3- of skidding after striking uneven surfaces on the road. It is much worse than previous cars in this respect. The starter motor is not too reliable, although up to now we have not had a definite failure, but upon the slightest incline approx. 10 to 20 attempts have to be made to get it to engage. We should again like to draw your attention to the carburetter, as we did previously to 23-EX; the metering of the carburetter is not correct for changing over from the slow, speed to the high speed jet. A slight increase in the air ports of the dashpot we believe is necessary to obtain the correct metering. A very strong spot is apparent during the change over from the low to the high speed jet, when the jets are set correctly for slow running and high speed work; if this strong spot is eliminated by weakening the low speed jet, a loss in acceleration is experienced. We have got both rear and front brake squeaks. Re rattles. We noticed during the run down here that the rear end of the bonnet is very bad for chattering and rattles. From observation, we should say that it lifts quite .375" upwards at a very high period. The front of the bonnet remained steady. This period is exactly similar to what was experienced when yourself and I first took the car out on London road, the only difference being that the front end is now steady. Re the tiring of the steering, we have examined the cross steering tube ball ends to see whether lubrication | ||
