To Mr. [REDACTED] Mr. [REDACTED] Mr. [REDACTED] Mr. [REDACTED] & Fm......From RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}/SB.{Mr Bull/Mr Bannister} 654 RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}/SB.{Mr Bull/Mr Bannister}1/MC.16.9.38. [Handwritten]: Scott [Handwritten]: I agree with this suggestion R.H. EW.1690 PUSH RODS - WRAITH The above push rods are at present polished all over after hardening in order to remove slight discolouration, the factory cost of this operation being approximately 2/6d per chassis, further charges also being involved for transport etc., which cannot be assessed. These rods are bought out finished to size on external surfaces, and being produced from 5/16" centreless ground bar, already have a smooth finish when delivered. From the works point of view, the polishing does not offer any assistance when testing for cracks, and we, therefore, suggest that it be, in future, discontinued. A set of unpolished push rods are now running in Wraith III. No.4. Engine Unit. RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}/S.Bannister. [Signature] | ||
