COPY FROM (8) No. GENL: 15. D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} 2076 OK RR x.200 CHASSIS WEIGHT. 90th Meeting Nov. 30th. Re Mr Johnson's letter, reference CJ5/D101111 in which he said that he viewed with alarm the increasing weight of our chassis. Mr Nadin re-ad this letter in the presence of Mr Spinney, who advised the Committee that it would necessitate the complete redesigning of the car, as that would be the only means of reducing the weight effectively. It was agreed that this could not at present be considered and that a copy of Mr Johnson's letter should be given to Mr Spinney and Mr Swetnam for their guidance and information, and that they should keep this letter before them when designing new parts, or when redesigning old parts. (Mr Johnson said - "I don't think this matter should be shelved. Someone should examine every part from the point of view of weight reduction.") Mr Spinney advised the Committee that the Drawing Office considered with particular care the question of weight in every design submitted. 91st Meeting 1st Dec.11.
