Our Ref......TS/HTB/LP.{Mr Lappin} 16th January 1936. Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., DERBY. For the attention of Mr. F.{Mr Friese} Ll. Smith. Dear Sirs, Referring to our telephone conversation of yesterday, we now have pleasure in enclosing herewith Drawing No.41249/2 illustrating assembly of 13 1/2" driven disc with horseshoe slot segments as proposed for application to your Phantom III chassis. This assembly is covered by our specification No.EX.44. You will observe that we have omitted the rivet holes for the hub, as it is our understanding that these will be drilled from the hub location. In connection with two similar plates recently returned by you for conversion to horseshoe slot segments, we are pleased to advise that these are now completed and the writer hopes to place same in your hands during intended visit to your Works to-morrow. With regard to the 11.A3 clutch returned for lighter (green) springs to be fitted, we are pleased to advise that this clutch is also ready and the writer will take the opportunity of bringing same along. In conclusion we should be pleased to know whether you have yet had an opportunity of carrying out physical and chemical tests on the broken segment of the 10" clutch previously handed to you with a view to making comparison with our own analyses, and we look forward with interest to your fullest comments in this regard. In the meantime, we are, Yours faithfully, BORG & BECK COMPANY LIMITED. H.T.Barker. | ||
