+8000 RHO. c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} BY9/H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} 5. 6. 24. E.A.C.II. CRANKCASE. +8000 R.{Sir Henry Royce} is complaining of the weight of the crankcase of the above engine. Would you kindly have one cast for me and then cut it up so that we can examine all the webs together in relation to the drawing. The point at issue is not to be able to blame the Works or otherwise, but to check:- a/- is the weight of a case exactly like our drawing. b/- if webs etc. are to drawing, will it be possible for us to reduce the thickness in certain parts, and thereby bring down the total weight. We could possibly discuss the issue together along with the Foundry, Mr.Bradbury, and make up our minds whether it would be possible to reduce the weight. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} | ||
