Speedometer. This appears to be fast. We made a test of it at 30 miles per hour over a measured mile and found it to be about 10% fast. We have since tried the speedometer head on our stationary rig and find it is only 6% fast. The reading however is rather erratic and we notice it does not return to zero.

Footbrake. This is good.

Steering. Good.

Owing to the very greasy condition of the road we found it necessary to fit a pair of test wheels and new tyres to the rear of the car, the ones belonging to it being quite smooth on the tread. The same tyre pressures were maintained.

We took an opportunity of bumping and rolling the car and found that the offside front shock absorber fouled the side steering tube. We were led to make this test as we were having similar trouble on production chassis fitted with this type of shock absorber, and we have today learned that GWH{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} has requested .125 more clearance at this point - this in our opinion is totally inadequate.
