X4588 To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from BJ. Copy to H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} BJ4/H23.5.23. Sir Eric Geddes. I wrote to R.{Sir Henry Royce} concerning Sir Eric Geddes lending us a Pierce Arrow car, as attached. R.{Sir Henry Royce} has now replied as follows:- "Your letter rec. re Mr. Eric Geddes Pierce-Arrow. I think the best thing would be to let Mr. Hives have it and if he thinks it desirable bring it to West WitteringHenry Royce's home town forve designers to see. By all means have it, and also let Mr. Geddes try one of our latest. There is nothing in what he says about pistons, we think we are doing equally well or better." I expect we can only get the car for a couple of days. When do you think you could test it with a view to taking it down to Mr. Royce? Please let me know to-morrow, as Sir Eric is expecting to hear definitely from us during the next day or two. B.J. | ||
