To ROY {Sir Henry Royce} /GEA. from Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X4491 c. to Mt. Stores. Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 3/LG20.12.23. TANGYE JACK FOR 20 HP. CARS. The Tange Jack for the 20 HP. cars concerning which we had some conversation yesterday, is not as satisfactory as the previous jack we tested (with cast iron casing). The jack is very difficult to wind up with no load on at all. Also when fully wound up it is not nearly as stable as the first sample - there appears to be excessive slack between the aluminium casing and the hexagonal brass portion which it locates. We should like to return the jack to the makers in order that they may correct these faults. The first fault is obviously unintentional. We should add that we have not lifted a car with the jack, it is exactly as we received it except that it has been wound out once and back again. We will report on the large jack at some future date. We are returning the jack to the Stores, will you please issue the necessary instructions for its despatch. Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /A.J.Lidsey. | ||
