Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.7/AD9.11.32. SMITH ELECTRIC PETROL GAUGES Further to our Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.3/KT24.10.32, we have now completed tests on these coils with satisfactory results. The tests consisted of 25,000 breaks on a voltage of 18, this voltage being slightly in excess of the maximum voltage the petrol gauge would have to withstand on the chassis. No failure was experienced and we therefore recommend that Messrs. Smiths adopt this method of winding and impregnating their coils on our chassis production. We have handed the coils over to Messrs. Smith's representative who are going to fit them in an instrument in order that further tests may proceed. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. | ||
