OUR REF: FF/D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} YOUR REF: PLEASE QUOTE REFERENCE. Wakefield House, 30 & 32, Cheapside London E.C.2. 29th June 1925. Messrs. Rolls-Royce, Limited, Experimental Department, Nightingale Road - D e r b y. Gentlemen, The Manager of our Motor Department - Mr. Frank Fisher - visited the Riviera on business in the early part of the Spring of this year, and reported he was very much struck with the large number of Rolls-Royce Cars met with all along the Coast, and the South of France generally - mentioning, too, the astonishing predominance of your Car over any other. This interested him so much that he made a point of enquiring from many chauffeurs how their lubrication supplies were obtained; and he learnt that, generally speaking, Price's Motorine was practically unobtainable and Wakefield Castrol difficult to purchase, at many Garages - with the result that inferior lubricants had to be purchased. Following these investigations, we instituted a successful Castrol selling Campaign in the South of France, and the enclosed list (showing where Castrol can be purchased) is of interest. We are desirous, if suitably encouraged, to institute before the coming Riviera Season a strenuous selling Campaign throughout the South of France, with a view to ensuring, in the future, that stocks of Castrol - particularly XL - will be kept or maintained generally in the Coté d'Azur. Castrol XL is the grade we have supplied you with for some time on many repeat orders, and one, we believe, which has been found most suitable for your Cars. We feel certain that, with your kind co-operation, and recommendation, we shall be able to fill the long-felt want of a suitable lubricant, readily obtainable throughout the whole of the Riviera, for use on Rolls-Royce cars. May we look forward to your support? Yours faithfully, C. C. WAKEFIELD & CO., LIMITED. [Signature] W. R.{Sir Henry Royce} Graham Managing Director. Enclosure. | ||
