EFC. X.3923 RE CAR FOR WEST WITTERINGHenry Royce's home town.

Regarding the car for my use, I am afraid I must insist upon it being up-to-date in running and in body shape and appearance, although it need not be highly finished or very smart looking.

I shall be glad therefore, if you will send me a drawing of the modification you are making to the body of the 4 EX. which you brought here.

I cannot possibly admire the vertical instrument board, and would sooner have the inconvenience of there being less room to get in and out of the front seats, if placed at the usual angle, and greater convenience of seeing the instruments.

I enclose herewith a list of pieces that I understand you will be able to fit to the car I am to have, so that I may get acquainted with them during the journey I propose to make early in June.

(1) X.3981 Rear Springs as recent memos, i.e. non-slit, tapered ends, no grease (Ferodo liners if found desirable.)
(2) X.3804 Luggage carrier fitted to H.H. standard plate extensions for existing frames.
(3) X.866 Thermostat.
(4) X.3794 Disc or wire wheels, set up springs in longitudinal steering tubes, pivots leaning back slightly more. (plain thrust washers if found preferable.)
(5) X.3751a X.3983 Pistons, 6 rings (top one high) unproved section split. (floating pin if successful.)
(6) Windscreen near steering (no rear windscreens.)

(Contd.)
