Re:- Chassis No. 47-AU - and other Overheating troubles.

I have read these letters through and they have interested me, especially as the day before yesterday Mr. Gliksten, who owns three of our 40/50's fitted with Front Wheel Brakes, telephoned me that he had noticed that since we had fitted the new type exhaust with only one outlet all these three cars had got up to boiling point, even in this cool weather - a thing they had never done before. He stated he had a thermometer on each of these three cars which was accurate.

Mr. Gliksten said he was not going to complain just now about it as he wanted to have the cars a little longer to gain more information when the weather got hotter. He says that he is quite sure now that if he took them to the South of France it would be impossible to run them for any length of time at highspeeds (as I understand he generally does run them) without boiling trouble.

CWB. is going to test these cars at 10 a.m. next Thursday morning; Mr. Gliksten is bringing them to Conduit Street. The reason for the test is a complaint by Mr. Gliksten of a noise in one of the back axles. Perhaps it might be as well, while the axle test is being carried out, for CWB. to make a test for over-heating.

Perhaps you would kindly put this matter in front of BJ.
