Bentley Rear Axle - Pinion Thrust Bearing. In accordance with the minutes of the last Chassis Conference, we have made N.Sch.4985 shewing the proposed improvement in the method of lubricating the existing pinion thrust bearing, following the lines of N.Sch.4610, and so avoiding the necessity of proceeding with this last scheme. The propeller shaft is closed .175" which seems well within the capacity of the sliding joint. Experimentally it is proposed that the oil return drain should be deleted so as to force the oil through the bearing. Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
