HILLMAN 14 HP. JPA.762.

We have the following comments to make on the above car.

ENGINE.
The engine is smooth and progressive.
Performance good.
The induction roar is very bad on this car, a more efficient air silencer is required.
Idling poor. Engine stops when pulling up in traffic.
Chassis and body shakes badly when engine is driven below 10 M.P.H. full throttle (top gear)

CLUTCH.
Smooth in action but much too heavy loading, pedal heavy to operate.

GEAR BOX.
Gear Box gears light unevenness 2nd gear otherwise good for noise Synchro fails on all gears when changing gear fairly quickly.

REAR AXLE.
A very good standard of Axle.

BRAKES.
Poor and ineffective, too much "lag" required for front operation. Brake mechanism very heavy requires a lot of pressure.

STEERING.
Light and positive action, bad control rattle in column.

EXHAUST SYSTEM.
Very "boomy" both forward and overrun, worst period 40-25 on the overrun.
