Dear Sir,

We are indebted to you for the courtesy extended to our Mr. C. L. Still upon the occasion of his interview with you last week regarding the question of Motor Oil for your cars.

We have now had an opportunity of talking the matter over with Mr. Still and have given very careful consideration to the various points discussed at the above-mentioned interview. We should very much appreciate it if you could see your way to carry out an extended trial of our Oil over, say, 10,000 miles. Such a test would, we are confident, prove to you the excellence of our Oil in every way, as regards absence of carbonisation, increase of power, and an absolute minimum of wear-and-tear of the frictional surfaces. If you could see your way to carry out such an extended trial we would, of course, ask you to carefully weigh the valves and make all necessary measurements, both before and after the test. If, however, you are not prepared at the present time to carry out such a test then we must be satisfied for you to make a shorter trial, the results of which would, we feel sure, be so satisfactory that you would in all probability be persuaded to extend the test.

We are putting the above proposition before you before actually sending a supply of Oil, as you requested Mr. Still to do, but upon having your reply we will immediately forward whatever quantity you desire and it is, of course, understood that no charge will be made for same.

Appreciating your consideration of the matter, and assuring you of our best services at all times,

Yours faithfully,
C. C. WAKEFIELD & Co.
