X 2572 Re Salford Electrical Condensers.

I understand Mr.Clarke has already sent you a report on the electrical test of these condensers. The following is a report on the mechanical part of the job. I might say that we had supplied these people with models of a finished condenser without fittings, also complete condenser in its case also complete set of fittings.

Speaking generally on the job it is a bad one and rough in every detail. No regard seems to have been paid to the sizes we give on our drawings, and consequently if we had at any time to change one of their condensers we should have to scrap the fittings.

Mr. Watkin's Report.

The fittings F.7368 and F.7365 are not right to our drawings, also screws F.7376 and F.7377 should have a plain portion but these are screwed up to the head of the screw. The stud F.7374 in position on F.7368 is short by .100, we should be unable to get our distributor terminal on same. Some of the fittings have also been fixed on in the wrong position, when fitted in our boxes the spring is .050 short of making contact on Dis. plate.
