1280 Experimental Dept. Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /Std.3/MH. {M. Huckerby} 15th. July 1938. Messrs. Serck Radiators Ltd., Warwick Road, BIRMINGHAM, 11. For the attention of Mr.C.S.Terry. Dear Sirs, We have now completed tests on the Serck matrix block which you sent us recently (Messrs. Clayton Dewandre made the tests for us) and the results indicate that the block is about equal to the Marston Mk.VI block (which is used by us at present) on a basis of heat dissipated/per unit matrix volume or space occupied, while on a basis of heat dissipated per unit of matrix weight it is inferior to the Marston Mk.VI. As it stands at the moment, therefore, this block does not present any inducement to us to change from our present supply - however, we are interested in the question of buying a radiator (Bentley) complete from outside suppliers, as discussed with you at your works recently. We have now completed the drawings etc. of the radiator in question and are arranging for our Buying Dept. to forward these and request a quotation for this radiator. To avoid confusion will you please scrap any drawings which we may have previously sent you. Yours faithfully, for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
