WST X6099. PN.{Mr Northey}16/WT23.11.31. S/W. ~~for...~~from PN.{Mr Northey} Copy to Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} ->Ha. Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} Noisy Dynamos. The Instruction Book asks for attention for both dynamo-bearings after 2,000 miles, but owing to the rear bearing being un-get-at-able in the absence of the dynamo-cover being removed, it gets frequently left unattended, with the result that we have trouble and complaints in respect of noisy bearings. I think we should, as early as possible, make some simple provision whereby oil can be offered to the rear bearing without removing the dynamo-end-cover. Please let me know if a modification has already been made dealing with this point. PN.{Mr Northey} [Stamp: RECEIVED] | ||
