-2- This firm produce practically the only high class express cruiser in this country, and use American engines, chiefly Gray, because there is not suitable English [strikethrough]Power[/strikethrough] Unit. They are sending Blue Print showing installation. At the moment, they are full of Admiralty and Air Ministry work, but are held up for engines. They are, in some cases, using Perkins' 40 H.P. Diesel. They are anxious to find an English engine and I hear on all sides that the Admiralty wish to find an engine in this country instead of going to America. The Walton people are very keen on rubber mounting and are extremely thorough in their method of carrying it out. They are anxious to try an engine, the only trouble is, they run in fresh water on the Thames and I feel a trial should definitely be carried out in the sea water.
