FALCON ENGINES

When a Repair Order is received for Falcon Engines of pre-F.A.O. 1500 type, the customer should be advised to have the following later modifications embodied.

The fitting of the later type Oil Relief Valve to the front Scavenge Pump Suction to prevent excess pressure building up in the system which might result in the bursting of an Oil Pipe.

The fitting of Oil Thrower type Breathers to the Camshaft Casing to prevent the loss of oil from the breathers when the engine is dived.

The fitting of an extra Oil Feed to No. 7 Bearing. The pipes necessary for this modification can be obtained by quoting Part No. F.T. 62963. The cost of the pipes being charged up on the Repair Order.

The fitting of the later type Reduction Gear Oil Jet. The jet to be used is F.T. 61271. This jet gives a better distribution of oil to the gears.
