For the time being, however, these contacts are standing up to the work so that the whole scheme is working properly on the car. As stated, we have got the windings so that the working of the system is exactly as intended, and there is none of the noise which exists with the standard arrangement when one continues to hold down the push button switch after the engine has started. This particular feature, however, appears to be the only advantage of the system over the present arrangement. We anticipate that the same scheme applied to the bendix type of engagement would work in much the same way, but for the purpose of preliminary experiments the scheme was more readily carried out in this way.
