attempted to adjust their slow running, the lock nut is loose.

(4) Shock Dampers, Variable control type. Governor tank filler plug. In the earlier type 3½-litre and 4¼-litre, this filler plug was bronze and was invariably found owing to the shallow depth of the hexagon to have been damaged in removal, presumably by Chauffeurs. A steel plug has been substituted for the bronze plug latterly. Even so, would you consider an increase in depth and size of the hexagon, as per sketch attached, so as to enable a larger box spanner being used for this removal? From the appearance of the damaged plugs, I would assume that the damage is caused by the chauffeurs using an adjustable spanner end-ways owing to the inaccessible position of the plug itself.

(5) Starter Motor Geared up type, 4¼-litre Bentley. It has been noticed that when removing the end cover plate of the drive housing for drive cleaning purposes that one of the outside end cover securing bolts fouls the second silencer body and has to be sprung over the silencer in order to clear the starter housing.

(6) Coachwork. Whilst realising that remarks appertaining to coachwork are not really relevant to the minutes of this meeting, there are several points from a general point of view where perhaps a slight alteration to either design or coachwork would assist the Depots a good deal in the carrying out of repairs.

(a) Handbrake lever. Although the changing of a handbrake lever assembly occurs at very infrequent intervals, it is necessary to lift the body to carry out this operation, Could not the lever itself be made detachable after the manner of the gear change lever, as not only would this enable the change of lever to be made, but would also facilitate the Repair Departments getting at the handbrake lever pawl, which as you know, through lack of lubrication frequently sticks.
