X5820 Expl: Dept: HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}6/LG. 12th. April 1927. Messrs. The Dunlop Rubber Co.Ltd., Fort Dunlop, Erdington, Birmingham. Dear Sirs, We have recently been fitting several sets of 6" tyres to our 20 HP. cars. Mr. Royce has taken exception to the appearance of the car with these tyres on 21" rims. With the artillery wheels in addition wheels of this size become very heavy. We are quite aware of the difficulty of the tyre maker with regard to standardisation of balloon sizes, but would be very interested to know whether the Dunlop Rubber Co. have ever considered producing a 19" rim which we could use on our 20 HP. car. Personally, we consider it would be a tremendous asset if we could obtain smaller wheels. Yours faithfully, | ||
