X4050 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} To R.{Sir Henry Royce} from BJ. Springing. BJ7/E4.10.28 Copy to BY Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} C. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} In R1/M1.10.28 you wrote as follows:- "Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} says that the more silent type of tread makes a "wonderful difference to the silence of the car. I "suggest our trials cars should be so fitted. My "12-G4 is waiting for the same." I have ascertained that this is done in respect of our 40/50 HP Trials cars. The 20 HP cars, however, are not yet fitted with the silent tyres, but they will be as soon as we can get supplies from Dunlops of these and the new wheels, which we hope will be shortly. We have had a set of silent tyres to try, but they are of a size that we have not adopted; they are a great improvement from the point of view of noise over the present standard. BJ. | ||
