X4388 To EP. {G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} from EFC. {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} EFC {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} 2/T20.7.23. X.4383 - 20 H.P. R.R. CHASSIS DYNAMO. In view of our instruction reducing the ampere output on the Specification of Production Test by 1 ampere, which we think will result in an actual reduction on those machines where there has been a tendency to increase, of more than 1 ampere, we think that in the case of machines at present in your hands giving a rather large output, they should, where convenient and at your discretion, be returned to be re-set to the new Specification. You will understand that this fact of excessive output has not previously been properly brought home to us, for one very good reason, that the three dynamos which we have treated in the same way for our own experimental cars are working well and commutating well, and those who use them have seemed pleased with the increased output, as compared with previously, where the production peak output was 2 amperes lower. There is little doubt, therefore, now in our minds that we are at last striking the right output compromise. EFC. {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} | ||
