We understand that Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} has pointed out that there is a defect in the present filter where it fits in the bottom of the filter pot resulting in a bad oil seal. This seems to be so, and is caused by making the filter pot in two pieces, the bottom portion being sweated in. However if it is cheaper to make the pot this way it can be left unchanged. We send you herewith LeC.5530 showing the bottom of the filter blanked off at the end, which will modify the piece E.87794. This will correct the job with the minimum amount of alteration. The filter also cannot now be inadvertently inserted upside down. LeC.5530 herewith. E/JNR.{Charles L. Jenner} | ||
