We have now made this car satisfactory with regard

to :-

(1) SLIPPER DRIVE. We have got the correct proportions of damping friction and driving springs. The lower crankshaft periods which were manifest on the car previously have now been eliminated.

(2) RUBBER ENGINE MOUNTING. We have fitted rubbers of the correct rating and set up. This has reduced the engine movement in the frame without bringing up vibrations.

(3) SCUTTLE JELLYING. Semi isolation has cured this trouble.

(4) PISTONS. We are not yet satisfied with the pistons. They are certainly not as good as those which are fitted to the present 20 HP. standard car. Further work is being done on these.

After comparing the riding and steering of this car with the present std. 20 HP. it is apparent that the front springing is not as good; we still get the shuddering at the front of the car which was complained of when the car was at WW.

We have carried out tests in parallel with the std. car to determine exactly what alterations made the difference.

We could send this car to WW. any time you wish.

We would like however to keep it here for a little longer in order to try and find the reason for the harsh riding.
