X7535 Roy.{Sir Henry Royce} from EFC. EFC3/AD27.2.30. X.7535. BURNT UP CELL TO CELL CONNECTIONS X.4642. FOR PHANTOM II BATTERY UNITS. Further to our EFC3/ADL2.2.30. and in view of the fact that it does not now seem expedient to obtain a 20 HP. battery from the National Accumulator Co. with the various modifications that have been suggested (principally for trial in combination of burnt up connections and modified cell lid{A. J. Lidsey}) we now confirm that this requirement of ours is cancelled, and it is understood that you have written the National Accumulator Co. to this effect. The change in our requirements arises largely out of the attitude taken up by the Chloride Co. as represented yesterday by their Mr.McKinnon during his visit, and the result is that we are now desirous to obtain one 6-volt Phantom II unit each from the Chloride Co. and the National Accumulator Co. each to have burnt up cell to cell connections (two only), but in regard to the four terminals, these to be the nut and bolt terminals as at present. In the case of each unit it will be similar, except in respect of the burnt up connections, to two 6-volt units which we comparatively recently received, one from each Company, with suggested modifications to date. We shall be pleased if you will place an orders for these two units. We attach a copy of my letter of the 26th inst. to the National Accumulator Co. EFC. Attached. Copy of letter ref. EFC5/AD. | ||
