BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. to BJ. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X3806 DAL/M17.3.28. INDIA 3 - CENTRALISED CHASSIS LUBRICATION ETC. X.3806 X.1360 We send herewith N.sch.2561 shewing the application of centralised lubrication to the rear springs front end, and the carrier levers. On this drg. we have also shewn the battery suspension and cross member. The arrangement of lubrication shewn depends on the proposed experiment with cadmium plating to avoid lubrication of the brake gear on the axle being a success. If not it will be necessary to get on to the front axle by means of a pipe along the springs, and we are sending some proposals for this on additional schemes. We have shewn a drip plug to N.sch.2502 for the sake of consistency, but if these are not available the American plug can be used without material alteration. the battery is exactly the present std. without alteration. Will you kindly send us an extra print for R.{Sir Henry Royce} DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
