K5830 ATTENTION OF MR. CARPENTER. "CAMACHAHenry Royce's office in West Wittering", WEST WITTERINGHenry Royce's home town. NR. CHICHESTER. SUSSEX. NOVEMBER. 30th. 1928. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}2/30.11.28. Messrs Hooper & Co. Ltd. 77, King's Road, Chelsea. LONDON. S.W. RE SEDANCA, 14.G.4. This is to confirm the writer's remarks which he made when he called to pass the body yesterday evening. The squab of the front seat was too flexible at the small of the back. This was a feature which we wanted very much to avoid. We agree that time is too short to do much now, but we suggest that you do what you can in the time to rectify this. All the nuts on the inside of the subframe should be filed down thin. It should be ascertained that none of the cross rails are below the level of the subframe cross-members. We would be glad if you could manage to fit the dual Bosch screen wiper befor the body leaves. We regret that through an oversight on the part of Derby you have not been supplied with a set of instruments for this car. The writer instructed these on October 20th. We believe that the board as made will be alright. If it is not it is entirely up to Derby to make it right or make a new one. We would be glad if you would supply with the body or as soon after as possible the following:- A small pot of Pastel Blue Paint for touching out. Sufficient rubber floor covering and carpet to enable Derby to deal with the front floor. Sufficient board, linrubber and nickel angle to enable Derby to construct the platform steps. We would like to thank you for all that you have done to speed up this body, and to tell you how pleased we are with its appearance. We will tell you more when we have mounted it and tried the car. We are counting on our lorry leaving your works on Saturday midday. Yours faithfully, for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
