Rolls-Royce, Ltd., DERBY. Dear Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}, When I last saw you I told you of the play in my back axle and you very kindly said you thought you could deal with this for me. The car has done less than 1,000 miles since that date and only 20,000 miles in all but it has got very much worse lately so much so that it is not only starting from rest but as the drive comes on and off when running. There is now a very large "clonk" and the whole thing is very trying and un-Rolls-Roycian and if you can cure it I should very much like to be rid of it. I do not seem to remember ever having had it with any of the other Derby products that I have owned (16 in all). I am taking the car over to Ireland for ten days at the end of this month and perhaps it might be as well to let it go as it is and have it done in the middle of May but perhaps you would let me know what is convenient. With kind regards, Yours sincerely, G.R.N. Minchin. | ||
