For the attention of -. Grylls Esq.

Dear Sirs,

TEST No. 610.B.

With reference to the bearing of competitive make which was handed to Mr. Hickling during his last visit, we are forwarding this under separate cover for your examination, this now having run for a period of 26 hours at the loads decided upon, and at a speed of 4500 r.p.m.

We thought it advisable to send the bearing at this stage so that you may carefully examine the condition of the tracks, rollers and balls, as in the subsequent failure which we feel would shortly arise, much of the evidence now present will naturally be destroyed.

You will note that the ball track is shewing signs of impending failure, the roller tracks and rollers giving indications of the usual marking due to full type.

If after examination you care to return this to us so that we can continue the tests, we shall be glad to do so, and await your comments and instructions with interest,

Yours faithfully,
RANSOME & MARLES BEARING CO. LTD.

MANAGING DIRECTOR.

Under separate cover.
Test bearing 610.B.
