CAM BALANCER SPRINGS

Several breakages of Cam balancer springs have occurred, particularly on Bentley cars.

It has been impossible to detect any material fault in the springs which have broken, but as the 20/25 HP and Bentley springs are so much alike to look at, it is thought that they may have got mixed up, in which case the lower poundage 20/25 HP. spring might bounce if fitted to the Bentley.

The following particulars of the two types of springs should therefore be noted in order to avoid any confusion.

Type Part No. Poundage Free length
20/25 HP. E.59706 32 lbs. 1.157
Bentley EB.1116 41 lbs. 1.240

Actually, the only difference is in the free length, so it is easy to get them mixed.
