| -2- (6) CYLINDER WATER JACKET COVERS. Managing Director and Foundry Manager of Handysides are in the Works today, going into the question of hard cylinder water jacket covers. Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} has put the matter to them very strongly that we are anything but satisfied. (7) NOISY DYNAMOS. Further to Minutes of 3/5/20.- Lucas people agree that their representative comes to our Works to test deliveries of Dynamos on our rig. (8) REPAIRS. Hm.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} brought up the question of training sundry people in his department to become specialists in the electrical equipment of the car. The Committee agreed with Hm.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} on this question and it was arranged that Hm.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} should discuss the matter with Mr. Clarke. Hm.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} to report on this subject later. (9) REPAIR DEPARTMENT. Hm.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} made a statement that repairs are suffering very considerably through shortage of room. He gave figures for floor space in square yards to show that he only had about half as many square yards of floor space now as he had in 1914. A discussion arose as to the possibility of erecting a shop beyond the Central Stores. The Committee agreed that this proposal was better than the big scheme that was proposed at the conference in Derby about a month ago. With the erection of this new shop it would give Hm.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} just about 200 sq. yards more than he had in 1914 and he states that this that would be enough for the next twelve months. Under Hm{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs}'s new scheme of "intensive culture" many more cars are under repair on the same floor space. --------------------- | ||
