B. 56. BN.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} - BENTLEY.

The general running of the car has been good.

ENGINE.
Engine has remained free from periods, tappets quiet in driver seat. No signs of pre-ignition. Detonations up to 45 MPH with Esso, but not offensive. Engine gears free from sing and rattle, slow running 8 MPH. and no misfire on pick-up. Sr is of the opinion that this engine is rather more noisy on the over-run than standard.

CLUTCH.
Shows a tendency to jagger but otherwise is standing up well, and shows no signs of slipping.

GEARBOX.
Box good standard for silence. Change speed good. Gear lever anti-rattle device is still satisfactory. Oil leak from Brake shaft on O.S. of the Box.

STEERING. Good allround.

REAR AXLE. Remains quiet, and pinion bearing only moist.

SHOCK DAMPERS. No audible knocks and glands only moist. Responds to control.

BRAKES. Effective. Slight squak at low speeds, both rear and front.

ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT. Gave no trouble.

BODY WORK. Both front doors have slight rattle. A crack 6" long has appeared just below the waist line at the N.S. rear corner, also a small crack is showing in the O.S. windscreen pillar about 3" from the top.

From the time of the car leaving Chateauroux on the 2/12/35, it has covered 805 miles, which brings the total mileage to 14.850.
