To Jnr.{Charles L. Jenner} c. to Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Wym.{G. Harold Whyman - Experimental Manager}11/JH.13.1.40. B.60 Cast Iron Engine. In reply to your query re accessibility of sparking plugs on the B.60 engine, we have had no trouble at all except in the case of one cyl. head EXS.1383, where the sparking plug recess has been further recessed by the Exptl. Dept. to get the plug further into the combustion chamber. This meant that when using a Champion N.8 sparking plug, which has a body length from the top of the hexagon to the C & A.{Mr Adams} washer of 5/8", the standard 1/2" box spanner fouled the cyl. head casting before reaching the hexagon of the sparking plug.
