-2- HY{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer}/EB.1/B.h.L.38. Our "L" Series equipment costs £44, of which £12 (27%) is for Lamps and Horns. I consider this to be out of proportion considering the duty of the various units. We could obtain a set of Lamps and Horns for £6 and allow an additional £1 to spend on the lamps to make them exclusive to us. In considering the following prices it would appear that we can save 7% without jumping to complete Lucas equipment, which will allow us to gain experience on a production basis of one or two sections. The alternatives are :- (a) R.R. (new design) units and R.100 headlamps £34-18-5. (20% Sav:) (b) R.R. (new design) units & Lucas Std. Lamps. £30- 0-2. (32% Sav:) (c) Lucas units and R.100 Lamps. £29-16-0. (32% Sav:) (d) Lucas units and Lucas Std. Lamps. £24-17-9. (42% Sav:) The attached table shows how these figures are arrived at. BY -Contd- | ||
