Re- Rolling Resistance
--------------------

Referring to my Sr/Dn5/MLG.23.9.38, I have now received a letter from Mr. Marcel Michelin, translation of which reads as follows-

" The rolling resistance of a tyre is a thing which is extremely difficult to give you in any precise way, especially as it deals with tyres of different dimensions.

" According to the question which you ask me, this resistance depends as a matter of fact, on a number of items which vary considerably according to the tyre pressure, the weight, wear of tyres etc.etc.

" I should much prefer as you suggest, that I discuss this matter with you and Mr. Robotham, to await this meeting in order to give you more details. I expect to be in Paris at the time of the Salon and hope that Mr. Robotham will remain until then and we could arrange to meet about the 6th or 7th of October if Mr. Hitler allowes this."
