E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} A.{Mr Adams} C.

STEPPED OR RECESSED DASH. J8500

Mr. Elliott has suggested this because there are certain difficulties with accessories on the bonnet side of the dash. I understand it would mean:-

(1) Present length of bonnet retained, or longer.
(2) Engine pushed as far forward as possible.
(3) Pedals also passing into a pocket, or equiv-alent, thus:-

(4) Scuttle would be relatively shorter.

Kindly discuss this with E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} and EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}, and find the advantages and disadvantages, and let me know.

R.{Sir Henry Royce}
