RADIATORS.

The matter of thermostat versus hand control of the louvres on radiators has been reconsid-ered with PN.{Mr Northey} and H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} and the conclusions arrived at here are confirmed, that we should continue to fit the hand control and thermometers to all cars, both 20.HP. and 40/50. It is understood that though the thermo-stat has some advantages, it is generally speaking a safer policy to adopt hand control.

An advantage the hand control has both for cooling and remaining hot is that it can anticipate. This particularly applies when we have the exhaust heated throttle, in which case it is not so important to keep the cooling water so near the maximum, i.e. when in hot weather etc there might be the risk of boiling, the louvres can be set full open all the time.
