X.4075 - GOSHAWK WIRING.

I have received a number of enquiries as to why, referring to the leads from the dynamo to the switchbox, we have made the positive one black and the negative red and black in colour, instead of associating the colour red with the positive wire, in accordance with the usual electrical practice.

I did not raise this point myself, because it did not seem to be of sufficient importance, taking into account the fact that we are using all kinds of colours, though from the remarks of other people one thinks that it might be desirable to alter this.

I do not think it will lead to any errors, the objection seems to be merely that it is contrary to the usual practice. If you think this point of sufficient importance, perhaps you will raise this with R.{Sir Henry Royce} at a suitable opportunity.
