Dear Mr.Robotham,

We thank you for yours of 12th inst.

We are surprised that you have only had a price for the sample axle as we have requested our American friends to quote us for 300 axles.

In looking through our records we find two reminders of this and so to try to complete the matter we are today cabling for the required information.

With regard to the connecting rods we would say that the machine that we have been waiting for for such a long time eventually was delivered and is in working condition, but is being proved against payment. I know that up to the time of writing we have not passed this machine for work but as soon as this is done we will proceed. We are getting on with the connecting rod job and hope to let you have some news within two weeks.

Yours sincerely,
p.p. HARDY, SPICER & CO. LIMITED.

J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} A.{Mr Adams} Daniell.
Director.
