| Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/CES.8/JH. 27th. September, 1939. Messrs. Peto & Radford Ltd., "Rundells" Latton, Nr. Harlow, ESSEX. For the attention of Mr. Minchin. Dear Sirs, With reference to your enquiry regarding increased fuel economy on your 4 1/4 litre Bentley. We are enclosing our recommendation of the procedure to be adopted. Regarding your reference to the most economical speed, this is in actual fact 20 m.p.h. constant, on a level road, the rate of consumption increasing gradually with road speed up to 50 m.p.h. where rate of consumption begins to increase more rapidly, due to windage. Hoping this information will meet your requirements. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
